2. Screw Santa onto the open end of the tube and turn until he sits firm and upright.
3. Hold the tube level with the toothbrush underneath, bristles up, a small gap between the two.
4. Squeeze. The paste comes out of his backside and onto the brush, and that's the whole joke.
5. When the tube's empty, unscrew him and move him to the next one. Rinse him under a hot tap before you do it, not after, because dried paste around the opening is much harder to shift once it sets.
